Greetings and happy Tuesday!

Painting rule #1.  Always stop just before you think it's done.  What an arm-chair-quarterback kind of thing that rule is, but one we're all supposed to remember in the nick of time, eh?   When we apply that to the moment; I was working on 'Shopped' again, and realized I was holding a little tiny brush.  Now there's an ahah! moment-----30 x 20 canvas, painting starting to feel done, little tiny brush with a miniscule dab of paint on it-----that's got to be all the indicators needed.  So I put a signature on it!  Tonight I'll tack a wire on the back, and  layer of varnish on the front.  But for now, here it is:

"Shopped"   acrylic painting on a gallery wrapped canvas.  It measures a lovely 30 x 20 inches on a 1 1/2 inch deep stretcher, paint extended around the edges, so no frame is necessary.  Enjoy!

Later, Cooper

A good friend/great artist looked at one of my works one day and said, "what brush size did you use there? It's the only part that doesn't look like you." I had made a departure and used a small brush vs my usual bigger brushes. I now try to consistently match brush size to canvas size and then stick to it throughout the piece. I've also liked the aging frail Matisse way--brushes on long sticks to eliminate that control with the small brush end. I've enjoyed hearing you work your way through your Shopped series!
