Hi there,

As promised yesterday, I played hookey from the greenhouse today, and I PAINTED.  It was good.  I also learned the shortest distance is NOT a straight line.

I started the morning with the dock painting, and quickly got to the hmmm? stage.  I put a wire on the back of it and hung it on the studio wall.  How better to understand it's issues, right?  So while attempting understanding, I happened to look at a painting from an art center studio session, leaning on the wall.  Is this all beginning to sound familiar?  Bearing in mind, this was a studio session probably at least a year ago, I suddenly had the ah-hah! moment for it.  Here's where my face turns slightly red, ----I can't find an image anywhere of how it looked fresh from the studio a year ago OR just before I grabbed a big fat paint brush and started scribbling on it.  But I can tell you I had a good time :)

And the amazing part is, I'm pretty sure the question I answered on the 'picnic' painting is the same answer for the 'dock' painting.  But before we go there, I'll put "Picnic' on for you.

"Picnic", 24 x 30 inches, acrylic painting on canvas.

Later, Cooper
